What no one tells you about building something you believe in
Hey beauty rebels, your neighborhood CEO Aysha here. I hope you read this, I’m pouring my heart out and letting you in. In case you don’t want to or can’t read it all, here’s a code that works this week only and on selected items: APRIL20.
At the start of the year, I talked about choosing intention over perfection. In February, we talked about love as recognition and community. In March, I shared why representation isn’t a trend for us; it’s the groundwork.
April is where all of that gets real.
Because what no one tells you about building something you believe in is that growth isn’t linear. It’s not picture perfect. And it definitely isn’t fun or confident all the time.
There are days when growth feels powerful.
And days when it feels lonely.
Days when you’re proud of how far you’ve come and days when you question every decision that got you here.
As the sole founder and owner of älliés, I carry the vision, the responsibility, and the doubt; all at once and alone. I’ve learned that believing deeply in something doesn’t protect you from fear of failure. If anything, it makes you feel it more.
The pressure to get everything right.
To look certain.
To perform strength.
But real growth has taught me something else: perfection is not what sustains you, people do.
Community is what holds you when the brand is growing faster than you are. When you outgrow old versions of yourself. When you realize that strength doesn’t mean having all the answers, it means staying open to relearning and asking for help.
This is why I believe so deeply in building things that can evolve.
In beauty, that means staples you don’t outgrow. Products that move with you, shift with you, adapt to different moods, faces, and seasons of life. Multifunctional pieces that don’t demand a fixed identity or knowing it all, they support change and learning. Something I know I’ve successfully accomplished with älliés.
In life, it means allowing yourself to be unfinished.
You don’t need to be polished to be powerful.
You don’t need to be fearless to be brave.
You don’t need to do this alone.
So if April feels tender for you, if you’re growing, stretching, doubting, becoming. I want you to know this: you’re not behind, you’re not failing. You’re building and you will get there.
And we’re right here with you. If you’d let us.
🌱 April focus: staples that grow with you, multifunctional products that adapt, not dictate. Learning something new and reminding yourself of what you already know. I want to treat you to a growth gift, 30% off on selected items and our professional makeup artist course. APRIL30, only valid this week.
With honesty and care,
